Endometriosis Awareness Month: A familiar pain. A familiar story.

Good afternoon my fellow Endometriosis Sisters!

I ran across an op-ed from Bill Teileman on the 24Hours Vancouver on-line paper. The small article addresses his step-daughter, Erin Ross Coward’s, battle with endometriosis and fibromyalgia. It discusses the various medicines and surgical challenges she’s faced while coping with two chronic illnesses, and it worth checking out. Even if to only get that “there IS someone else like me out there” moment we all need once in a while.

In the article, Teileman notes that Coward has recently had to stop attending the University of British Columbia due to her medical conditions. This is a familiar story, and we can all find commonality in it. The many medications. The surgeries. The prospect of a life changed due to the chronic illness.

Teileman’s personal contribution to endometriosis awareness is a short but worthy read.

I woke up in pain today, and seeing this post made me feel motivated.
Like endochick said in her post “Even if to only get that “there IS someone else like me out there” moment we all need once in a while.”
its sad to hear of the pain others experience as well, but it is helpful knowing we’re not alone.
